At the edge of the Sahara Desert, a lone rider makes his way... So begins the story of three brothers from the kingdom of Khazar, who separated and wandered far from their home in order to learn Torah from their generations leaders. They cross the vast desert and the stormy sea, and encounter danger in the shadowy jungle and dark, frozen forest. They get entangled in the web of intrigue surrounding the palaces of emirs, the courtyards of spanish princes, caliphates and the karaites. However, in the merit of their fathers last will and testment, the mitzvah that they each pledge to fulfill at all costs guards and protects them wherever they go. In the first part of our story "In the Zirid Kingdom", the eldest son, Nesanel, makes his way to Fez in order to learn Torah from the leading sages there. Many adventures, though, lie in wait for him as he crosses the great Sahara Desert.. The story of the three brothers was written by the author Yaakov Morgenstern in Europe, around one hundred and seventy years ago. Since then, it has been reprinted and republished in many variations. Comics is proud to present the story- adapted for the first time as an illustrated story by the talanted artist Batsheva Havlin.
